The Garber Webster Subaru team delivered 120 pairs of brand new socks and shoes to children in our area who are a part of the Hillside Program in Rochester, NY. The Garber Subaru Love Promise event, Operation Warm, was a fun and interactive gathering to help children in our community and to make their day extra special on Feb 7- Smiles and fun jokes were definitely part of the program! The Garber Team and the Hillside caregivers and administrators enjoyed partnering to give the children an afternoon to remember! We thank everyone who was a part of this cheerful day of fun for the children!
Garber Subaru Webster was very excited to partner with East Irondequoit Middle School to provide a few very deserving young students with the Christmas gifts of their dreams this season! What a pleasure it was to arrive and meet these bright young minds and to provide some Christmas cheer to make their holiday merry and bright! We can't thank the staff enough at East Irondequoit Middle School for their commitment to their students each and every year! Merry Christmas to all of you!
Gerber Subaru of Webster hosted us for an adoption event October 21, 2023, for the Subaru Loves Pets month. We have worked with Garber for the past few years and their event has always been one of our most successful. This year has been hard on rescue, and we are no exception. The number of animals seeking refuge seems to be going up while adoptions seem to be slowing down, plus the increased costs of, well, everything adds to the struggle. This year for the event, we wanted to focus on some of our harder to place dogs who really needed the right homes. Heather from Garber was wonderful to work with and so supportive of our mission this year. We are a smaller local rescue in the Rochester area but have been blessed with a great community. We had just 5 dogs attend this year, all of whom needed some extra special attention and love. Out of those five, 3 of them were adopted as a direct result of the adoption event! It may not seem like much but to us, it was a huge success and so many people got to learn about who we are and what we do in their community. One of those adoptions included Adele, a small black Pitbull mix. Rochester is a place filled with Pitbulls who unfortunately see their unfair share of suffering and loss. Adele was surrendered by her owner to a shelter and pulled off a euthanasia list by our foster. She was a tiny "pocket pibble" who weighed in about 25 lbs. and LOVES everyone. She wiggles so hard she about snaps in half and is a happy little clown. We know that sometimes the breed gets a bad rap, and they can be hard to place but she was too happy to let down. She spent a little over four months in our rescue with ZERO interest. Which was just disheartening as she is the best love bug, and we couldn't understand why. She went to multiple events to no avail. But the Garber event was her golden ticket. She met her perfect match and got adopted that weekend! We are so very happy for her and want to express our sincere gratitude for Garber Subaru for hosting us, enabling us to make families whole and keep saving lives by finding the perfect forever homes for our pets. Thank you!
Another successful Pet Adoption here at Garber Subaru in Webster this month! The showroom had about 20 grown dogs arrive to find new homes! Rescued Treasures Pet Adoptions agency is a terrific partner in helping to locate the very best homes for these adorable dogs within our community. We had customers arriving early just to get a glimpse of their next new pet to take home. We love the turnout! Thank you for partnering with us to give these beautiful animals loving homes! Garber Subaru Webster loves Pets!!
Thank you to Garber Subaru for once again partnering with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society® and providing warmth, comfort and relief to those facing cancer in their community. Garber Subaru delivered blankets, patient care kits and Messages of Hope to Wilmot Cancer Institute through the Subaru Loves to Care® program. Garber Subaru has been a supporter of this program for several years and over those years have delivered hundreds of blankets to patients at Wilmot Cancer Institute in Rochester. These blankets provide warmth and comfort to patients in their time of need. In addition to blankets and care kits, Garber also included Messages of Hope cards for the patients. These cards are filled out by Garber Subaru customers during the month of June and include words of encouragement and hope for the patients. Thank you to Garber Subaru for not only being a great partner to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society®, but for all the support you provide for cancer patients within Rochester, NY.
Our staff and patients here at the Wilmot are so grateful to Subaru for constantly including us in wonderful blanket donation initiative. The blankets are always the best, and certainly warm for those who are undergoing chemo. I always tell them to bring the blankets back when they come in for their next treatment, so they can put it on top of the blankets from our blanket warmer. It helps hold the heat from the warmer a little longer! The patients love them and the responses are always, smiles, and comments about how wonderful it is and that Subaru is so awesome for thinking of the Wilmot in such a beautiful way. All of us thank you from the bottom of our hearts for partnering with us and bringing such warmth and positivity to our Cancer Center! Way to go Subaru!

Garber Subaru has brought so many smiles to EIMS in these recent months! In the summer, we were asked to select some deserving teachers to be apart of the Adopt A Class program. Each teacher received money to be used to purchase new items for their classroom. It was so wonderful to see these teachers so excited for new classroom items! Before school started in the Fall, Joel and Heather came to the school to meet with me. They asked for ideas on how Garber Subaru could help more at our school. I suggested a few ideas on something around the holidays. We came up with the idea that the principal would select 5 deserving students to receive their top holiday wish list item. Just a few days ago, the amazing people at Garber came through and delivered the gifts to the 5 students...even putting together some of the gifts too! From all the teachers, staff and students at East Irondequoit Middle School -thank you so much for your kindness and generosity!
The Center for Youth and its dedicated staff and volunteers remain steadfast in delivering high quality services and programs to young people throughout Monroe County who are facing homelessness, despair, unstable housing and insecure healthy food sources but we can't do it alone. That's where Subaru Share the Love comes in. We are faced with serving youth in homeless shelters on our own; all other youth shelters closed in the past two years. And so our youth who are older and in independent living are often left out, refused housing and forced to stay on the street. The Center's funds are stretched and the supplemental needs are essential. As a young man on the streets was turned away from all other places, The Center was able to bring the youth into shelter, get him re-enrolled at MCC, connected to a workforce program and a position as a youth leader. The supplemental funds made it possible. The partnership truly saved a life. This young man has completed his two year degree, he is strong and healthy and headed to a 4 year university. He knows that his path could have taken a much different direction and he also knows that without the commitment, energy, love and promise of the Subaru community, he might not have a bright and promising future. That's where the Share the Love Promise really matters. Just as this young man will face a smoother path down the road, so too will dozens of other young people without resources and family connections. And so during this season of hope, we thank Subaru and we pledge to be excellent stewards of the support. We send all gratitude The Center for Youth staff
Our Subaru partner hosted an adoption event for our rescue during “Subaru Loves Pets” month. It was an incredibly successful day for us, and I hope them. With about two dozen dogs in attendance, and the event being shared on social media platforms both through the rescue and Subaru, there were over 50 Applications received from the event that day!! The success of that event directly resulted in 15 adoptions over the next two weeks. Events like the this one hosted by Subaru make such a huge impact on a small rescue like ours. Getting out into the community and having support is what gets our animals in their forever homes. We are so grateful for our Subaru partner and love everything you do for us and animals in need. Thank you!
Clementine was dropped off at the Lauderdale Shelter in Tennessee by her previous owners. Clem came in still with stitches in her ears from a hacked crop job that was done with the hope of making her tougher. She had been an outside dog who was encouraged to be aggressive and when she wasn't mean enough to be a guard dog, they turned her in to the shelter. She was underweight, about 39 lbs, and pregnant. Rescued Treasures immediately stepped up to foster her but it took a while to be able to find a transport for her. While she was at the shelter waiting for a couple of weeks, she did not gain any weight and instead was losing her fur. Clementine finally made it up north and her fosters met her in Binghamton to bring her home. She was skinny, had fleas, mange, worms, and was battling a skin infection. She still had the stitches in her ears and her tail was cut open. She was given some medications but the options were limited for her because of her pregnancy. Clementine's fur and skin on her tail continued to get worse until it all fell off. Clementine gave birth to 9 puppies on March 24, and she was an amazing mom to them. Her true loving and gentle personality really started to emerge. Once the puppies were weaned, she could finally get all the proper treatment for her ailments and put on the weight she was missing, she's now a healthy 55 lbs. Unfortunately, nothing could be done for her ears or her tail and part of her tail had to be removed. Clementine suffered all this in just the first year of her life. After she was done being a mom, she was given the opportunity to get some independence and we all got to see what an amazing animal she was. She loved nothing more than to be with people all the time no matter what they were doing. She considers herself a lap dog who loves blankets. She hated being outside, especially in the rain, but she is an excellent squeaker hunter. After months of searching for the perfect fit for her, Clementine was adopted on October 12th by her new mom and they are best friends. She is now going to be able to live out the rest of her life snuggling in blankets with her favorite person just like she prefers. **Garber Chevrolet Subaru, our partner retailer hosted an adoption event for us. Rescued Treasures had 14 dogs that were able to be at the event, that event directly found 10 forever homes for our dogs within the next few weeks. We are so grateful to them for their generosity and caring in partnering with us to find these animals the homes they deserve.
