Garber Subaru Rochester Teams Up to Support Local Community - Karen D
Imagine going without a coat, shoes, or even socks. For millions of children and adults experiencing homelessness and other urgent need situations across the country, even here in Webster, this is a harsh reality. Helping others strengthens communities, which is why Garber Subaru Rochester is partnering with Operation Warm®, a national nonprofit focused on connecting children with the resources they need to thrive. Through this partnership and other Subaru Loves to Help® efforts, Subaru and retailers like Garber Subaru Rochester have helped nearly 900,000 children and adults in urgent need. On 01/15/2025, Garber Subaru Rochester donated 120 coats to Hillside Childrens Center. These essential items not only help keep children protected, warm, and dry, it can have a significant impact on a child's mental and emotional well-being.

The Subaru Loves to Help event this year was a HUGE success! Garber Subaru Webster in conjunction with Hillside Children's Center was able to deliver 120 warm coats to the youth in our community. The organization serves the youth in a nine county area here in Rochester and Garber Subaru Webster was delighted to share this moment with them!
Garber Subaru Loves Pets - Heather P
Garber Webster Subaru has partnered with Rescued Treasures Pet Adoption, our local animal welfare organization that helps to foster and permanently place animals in their forever homes and to help support shelter pets in our community through the Subaru Loves Pets® initiative. Last year, approximately 6.5 million animals entered shelters in the U.S, according to the ASPCA®. Many of these animals live day after day without the love of a family or a home. Subaru and its retailers like us believe all pets deserve a loving home and that’s why we are the largest corporate donor to the ASPCA. Over the past 4 years, we have provided support by hosting the Rescued Treasures Pet Adoption adoption event in our Garber Subaru Webster Showroom which resulted in every pet present to receive applications for potential adoptions to their new permanent homes. In October the staff here greeted and pitched in to get these adorable animals the attention needed to place them in fabulous residences in our community. Through this effort, we were able to support the over 15 dogs who were looking for a family to join. Donations were also made in the form of dog toys, dog beds, treats and needed supplies. This event is very popular each year and the community comes out to support it with great enthusiasm.

The staff and patients at the Wilmot were so grateful to Subaru for constantly including them in the wonderful blanket donation initiative. The blankets are always the best quality and so pretty and certainly warm for those who are undergoing chemo. They will be shared with our staff to distribute to the patents. It helps hold the heat from their onsite blanket warmer a little longer! From the staff there, "The patients love them and the responses are always, smiles, and comments about how wonderful it is and that Subaru is so awesome for thinking of the Wilmot in such a beautiful way. All of us thank you from the bottom of our hearts for partnering with us and bringing such warmth and positivity to our Cancer Center! Way to go Subaru! "

The Garber Webster Subaru team delivered 120 pairs of brand new socks and shoes to children in our area who are a part of the Hillside Program in Rochester, NY. The Garber Subaru Love Promise event, Operation Warm, was a fun and interactive gathering to help children in our community and to make their day extra special on Feb 7- Smiles and fun jokes were definitely part of the program! The Garber Team and the Hillside caregivers and administrators enjoyed partnering to give the children an afternoon to remember! We thank everyone who was a part of this cheerful day of fun for the children!

Garber Subaru Webster was very excited to partner with East Irondequoit Middle School to provide a few very deserving young students with the Christmas gifts of their dreams this season! What a pleasure it was to arrive and meet these bright young minds and to provide some Christmas cheer to make their holiday merry and bright! We can't thank the staff enough at East Irondequoit Middle School for their commitment to their students each and every year! Merry Christmas to all of you!

Gerber Subaru of Webster hosted us for an adoption event October 21, 2023, for the Subaru Loves Pets month. We have worked with Garber for the past few years and their event has always been one of our most successful. This year has been hard on rescue, and we are no exception. The number of animals seeking refuge seems to be going up while adoptions seem to be slowing down, plus the increased costs of, well, everything adds to the struggle. This year for the event, we wanted to focus on some of our harder to place dogs who really needed the right homes. Heather from Garber was wonderful to work with and so supportive of our mission this year. We are a smaller local rescue in the Rochester area but have been blessed with a great community. We had just 5 dogs attend this year, all of whom needed some extra special attention and love. Out of those five, 3 of them were adopted as a direct result of the adoption event! It may not seem like much but to us, it was a huge success and so many people got to learn about who we are and what we do in their community. One of those adoptions included Adele, a small black Pitbull mix. Rochester is a place filled with Pitbulls who unfortunately see their unfair share of suffering and loss. Adele was surrendered by her owner to a shelter and pulled off a euthanasia list by our foster. She was a tiny "pocket pibble" who weighed in about 25 lbs. and LOVES everyone. She wiggles so hard she about snaps in half and is a happy little clown. We know that sometimes the breed gets a bad rap, and they can be hard to place but she was too happy to let down. She spent a little over four months in our rescue with ZERO interest. Which was just disheartening as she is the best love bug, and we couldn't understand why. She went to multiple events to no avail. But the Garber event was her golden ticket. She met her perfect match and got adopted that weekend! We are so very happy for her and want to express our sincere gratitude for Garber Subaru for hosting us, enabling us to make families whole and keep saving lives by finding the perfect forever homes for our pets. Subaru Loves Pets Adoption Month - Heather P
Another successful Pet Adoption here at Garber Subaru in Webster this month! The showroom had about 20 grown dogs arrive to find new homes! Rescued Treasures Pet Adoptions agency is a terrific partner in helping to locate the very best homes for these adorable dogs within our community. We had customers arriving early just to get a glimpse of their next new pet to take home. We love the turnout! Thank you for partnering with us to give these beautiful animals loving homes! Garber Subaru Provides Blankets, Care Kits, & Messages of Hope to Local Cancer Patients - Nick R - Nicholas R
Thank you to Garber Subaru for once again partnering with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society® and providing warmth, comfort and relief to those facing cancer in their community. Garber Subaru delivered blankets, patient care kits and Messages of Hope to Wilmot Cancer Institute through the Subaru Loves to Care® program. Garber Subaru has been a supporter of this program for several years and over those years have delivered hundreds of blankets to patients at Wilmot Cancer Institute in Rochester. These blankets provide warmth and comfort to patients in their time of need. In addition to blankets and care kits, Garber also included Messages of Hope cards for the patients. These cards are filled out by Garber Subaru customers during the month of June and include words of encouragement and hope for the patients. Thank you to Garber Subaru for not only being a great partner to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society®, but for all the support you provide for cancer patients within Rochester, NY.
